Fixed monthly fees, published
Accountancy pricing is usually hidden behind a "request a quote" form. Ours isn't. Below are the actual monthly fees, what each package includes, and — just as importantly — what it doesn't.
How much does an accountant cost for a limited company?
Lumi's fixed monthly fees start at £180 a month for a limited company on Lite, £250 for Core and £350 for Complete. All three include a Xero subscription, statutory accounts, corporation tax, director's payroll and the director's personal Self Assessment. There is no separate year-end invoice and no charge for ordinary calls or emails.

"Yes (1)" means one director. Every package includes your director's payroll and personal Self Assessment return; if your company has more than one director, we'll quote for the additional returns.
Hospitality and construction are priced differently
Both sectors carry compliance the standard packages don't cover — tronc and tips in hospitality, CIS and the VAT domestic reverse charge in construction — so they're priced separately.
| Sector | Essentials | Growth | Full service | Covers |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hospitality | £200/mo | £325/mo | £475/mo | Tronc schemes, tips and NIC, VAT on food and drink, rota-driven payroll (from Growth), cash controls |
| Construction | £250/mo | £425/mo | £650/mo | CIS returns and verification, VAT domestic reverse charge, retentions, job costing, long-term contracts |
What the monthly fee doesn't cover
Every fixed-fee accountant has a boundary. Here's ours, in writing, so it isn't a surprise later. Anything below is quoted before we start — never invoiced afterwards without agreement.
- R&D tax relief claims
- HMRC enquiry or investigation representation beyond routine correspondence
- Statutory audit (we'll refer you to a registered auditor)
- Share reorganisations, incorporations after year one, and company restructuring
- One-off advisory projects — business sale or purchase, valuations, forecasting models
- Catch-up bookkeeping for periods before you joined us
Why we're not the cheapest
You can find limited company packages advertised from around £75 a month. That's a real option and for some businesses it's the right one. The differences are usually these three, and they're worth checking on any quote you're comparing — including ours.
Who actually does the work?
Lower fees often mean your accounts are prepared by unqualified staff or offshore processors, with a qualified name only signing off. At Lumi the work is done by an ICAEW Chartered Accountant, and it's the same one every time.
Is the software included?
Xero is included in every Lumi package. Billed separately it's roughly £16–£59 a month depending on plan — enough to close most of the gap between a £75 quote and ours before anyone has done any work.
What's billable?
Ask what a phone call costs. Many cheaper packages charge per query or per call, so the annual total depends on how much you need them. Ours doesn't — questions are included.
